LifeCents Recognized as Innovative Company by Northern Virginia Technology Council Tech 100

With LifeCents CEO Blake Allison Honored as Top Tech Executive

WASHINGTON D.C., Nov. 20, 2019 — LifeCents, a financial wellness company, today announced that the company was—for the second year—selected as one of Northern Virginia Technology Council’s (NVTC) Tech 100, which recognizes a cadre of companies driving tech innovation and growth in the Greater Washington D.C. region. In addition to the company honor, LifeCents’ Founder and CEO, Blake Allison, was chosen as one of the top 25 tech leaders in the region.

“With a unique vision and dedication to industry innovation, LifeCents stands out as a leader in the region and beyond. We’re excited to announce LifeCents as an NVTC Tech 100 honoree,” stated Bobbie Kilberg, President and CEO, Northern Virginia Technology Council.

In the past year alone, LifeCents offered all federal workers and others affected by the government shutdown free access to the financial wellness platform, officially launched the nationwide “MySavingsJar” initiative with AARP, and partnered with BayPort Credit Union to launch “SmartCents”, a custom version of the LifeCents app that aims to help members connect to educational workshops, financial coaching and other services beneficial to each member’s unique financial profile.

“2019 was a year of continued, significant growth—LifeCents is far more than a single-solution fintech app that only provides financial education and our clients and partners understand that,” said Blake Allison, founder and CEO of LifeCents. “The platform helps consumers improve their overall financial mindset and behavior, and helps users take steps—large and small—towards achieving their financial goals. We are honored that NVTC recognized LifeCents, and we are excited to be included on the list for the second year in a row.”

In addition to LifeCents being recognized as a member of the Tech 100, NVTC also honored LifeCents’ founder and CEO Blake Allison as an innovative leader.

A member of MindShare’s 2019 cohort, this year Allison led LifeCents as the company completed its Series C funding round, expanded to Arlington, VA with a 4,000 square foot space, and brought on a number of strategic hires.

The Tech 100 will be celebrated at an exclusive party at the Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner on December 9, 2019.
