LifeCents Named to Top 5 for CHXD and Commonwealth Design & Innovation Challenge

Company recognized for unique solution for financial decision-making during open enrollment

Washington D.C., Nov 27, 2018 – LifeCents, a financial wellness company, today announced that the company was selected as a honorable mention in the Commonwealth and Center for Health Experience Design’s (CHXD) Design & Innovation Challenge.

The challenge recognizes creative solutions that help financially vulnerable employees balance their health and financial needs during open enrollment and throughout the year through a highly engaging, human-centered and user-focused experience. The top solutions, like LifeCents, needed to empower users to make informed decisions throughout the selection process while also connecting them with benefits options most appropriate for their financial needs.

“Deciding to enroll in a high deductible healthcare plan is similar in complexity to many other financial decisions consumers make,” said Blake Allison, Founder and CEO of LifeCents. “For LifeCents, the gravity of these decisions – in health and finances – illuminates the pressing need to help people make informed decisions about their hard-earned money.”

Commonwealth and CHXD judges recognized LifeCents for its outstanding financial literacy solution, novel and engaging interactions and strong visual design. In particular, the judges commended LifeCents’ interactive experience, gamification technique, implementation of behavioral finance principles and the creative approach LifeCents employs to empower employees to pick the health plan that best fits their needs while mitigating the financial risks of those decisions.

Allison and Special Projects Manager Whitney Jones accepted the CHXD and Commonwealth Design & Innovation Challenge award at Mad*Pow’s Financial Experience Design Conference in Boston Oct. 25th.
